Mac User Guide

Variations2, the Indiana University Digital Music Library, Version 4.3.2 is currently available for use. .

  • To upgrade your current version of Variations2 to 4.3.2, use IUWare Online.
  • To install Variations2 for the first time, follow the download instructions for your Windows PC or OS X Mac. If you have a new Intel-based Mac, read the known problems.

Variations2 is installed in the following places:

  • UITS Student Technology Center (STC) computers (Windows PCs and Macs) on the 1st and 3rd floors of the Cook Music Library and elsewhere on the Bloomington campus
  • Windows PCs in School of Music classrooms: M015 (Sweeney Hall), M242, M263, M267, M271, and M373

Indiana University School of Music (SOM) faculty have Variations2 installed on office PCs and Macs.

Variations2 has replaced Variations as the primary course reserve system and digital music library for the IU music library.

New Features in Version 4
Listening Drills are the main new feature for version 4. Users can create various types of listening drills from their playlists. The drills can be customized to test on specific sections of a track or on various bibliographic information.

With version 4, annotation tools are available in the Score and Opus viewers. Users can make and save annotations on scores.
